Lithotherapy
FOR ANIMALS
What is animal lithotherapy ?
The term lithotherapy derives its etymology from the Greek “lithos”, which means stone, and “therapeia” which means care. It therefore designates the art of healing with stones.
Stone is an element of the earth's crust which is the result of the aggregation of minerals which has been transformed by water, wind and time.
Stones are made up of minerals, while minerals are created from an association of atoms which, through a chemical reaction, creates a solid. Each mineral has physical and chemical properties that distinguish it from others. Minerals are thus classified according to their crystalline appearance, luster, color, hardness, density, cleavage, effervescence, magnetism and electrical conductivity. Each stone has unique benefits.
The phenomenon of mineral cooling is called crystallizationThus, the way a mineral cools determines the resulting crystal, even though the formulation remains the same. For example, quartz crystal is a mineral that has been transformed by low temperatures and low pressures (the pressure depends on the depth in the earth). With higher temperatures, this same chemical formulation would have given cristobalite.
This holistic healing method uses stones and crystals to produce an interaction at all levels of being. All living beings and all matter are energy. These energies that make us are the manifestations of our state of being at the physical, psychic and emotional levels. If we change our emotion, we change the vibrational frequency of our energy Minerals have a strong energy with very marked characteristics depending on their composition and crystallization. They have a subtle and stable energy which is used in lithotherapy to influence our vibratory rate and obtain improvements in our state of being. These energy flows are captured and conveyed by the chakras and meridians.
Lithotherapy is not a medicine, it does not cure diseases.
Animal lithotherapy is still little developed or recognized although animals instinctively recognize the benefits of crystalline energy and are extremely receptive to it. This energy treatment is ideal for animals because it is gentle, non-invasive, requires no effort by the animal, no handling and is not painful.
It is important to be attentive to the reaction of the animal when using stones and especially crystals. Their energies can sometimes be too intense and fast for the animal to have time to integrate. It is therefore necessary to monitor the animal's behavior and reduce or even stop the treatment if necessary.
Animals are more receptive than humans to energy treatments, so why not offer them this gentle, non-invasive and powerful method?
Its story in a nutshell
The energetic virtues of stones have been known for at least 3 million years. The first account comes from the tablets of Nippur, in Mesopotamia, which testify of the use of minerals as well as plants in traditional medicine. The Egyptians ingested Lapis Lazuli powder as a medicinal treatment. They were the first to study the symbolism of the colors of stones as well as the art of their placement on the body. The Aztecs idolized the stones and wore them as jewelry on their bodies according to their ailments. In acupuncture, the Chinese reinforced the energy power of their needles by adding a stone ball chosen according to its vibratory properties.
More recently, the term “lithotherapy” appears in the second half of the twentieth century. The medium Edgar Cayce was the first to draw attention to the healing properties of minerals by evoking the healing power of crystals. Then, thanks to the New-Age movement in the 1960s and 1970s, lithotherapy developed as alternative medicine to complement to modern medicine
benefits
There are hundreds of listed stones and crystals. It is thus possible to treat all the physical, psychic or emotional ailments of our animals. Knowing that it is possible to combine several stones and crystals to intensify their effects.
For example, my dogs wear stones every day as a collar:
Mon Sharpei Zac portait une jadéite verte pour stimuler son système immunitaire lorsqu’il était en fin de vie.
Ma staffie Elfie porte une agate gris bleu pour l’apaiser et réduire son anxiété.
My Staffie Nuts wears a rose quartz to relieve past traumas with its calming and reassuring effects.
